My Tio Franky treated me on 5/29/24 after visiting my Mommy's grave which is Mountain View cemetery. The restaurant is located at the Center Street Plaza. The restaurant is not very big. Interior is clean. Tv screen available with Korean drama show running. The service is quick and efficient. We both ordered the short ribs which comes with rice, salad and japchae $18.00. We also ordered a side of japchae noodles $9.00 plus bulgogi $3.00 and a side of kimchi $2.00. I got hot tea. My Tio got coke. The food is flavorful and delicious!! The portions are generous. I definitely plan on returning when back in this area.
Great place to grab some terrific food. Near the 16 at Center st. It’s easy to access, whether you’re going to recycle, to wash the car or just looking for a treat for yourself. Stop in to the friendly delicious oasis that is Kimchi Box. There are a few tables for dine in, and the atmosphere is low key. Quick efficient service, friendly counter staff, spotless, go in and enjoy some of their selection!
The food was absolutely delicious! But to our surprise, the service was even more amazing. The lovely Ms Han was so patient and delightful with my sister, her 3yr old, and me. She was so accommodating and made dining in with a hungry, tired toddler so lovely! My niece adored her and slurped down the noodles in delight. Thank you so much for making my sister feel at ease and providing tasty food!!! (They even have frosted mugs for beer!!)
I'm looking forward to returning and trying more of Kimchi Box's menu... My sons and I enjoyed our first visit very much. They have a nice variety on the menu, with items like bibimbop with different proteins, bento box type options, side dishes and duk bok ki - which is what I ate during this visit. The portion for my dish wasn't very big.. Even when I added ramen noodles (the noodles were about the size of a half pack of instant ramen). My sons had pork bento style and it was quite big... They're picky eaters and liked it a lot. The counter woman was very nice and the stand, while small and simple, is very clean and inviting. Prices are very reasonable. A great break from your average teriyaki shop!
I stopped by not expecting much but the cashier was so nice and kind. Food was great and I know Korean food very well. I highly recommend this place. I forgot to take a photo as I was busy eating.
I can’t say that this was a good Korean place to go to especially when I was looking forward to Korean food. I ordered a “kimchi box” and it didn’t come with kimchi. If I wanted kimchi it was additional $2 which is no big deal but it was just the principle. And the kimchi was way overripe. It should have been thrown away weeks ago! The “kimchi box” entree was teriyaki chicken with too much sweet sauce and a little japche and green salad. If I was looking forward to a teriyaki chicken box I would have been a little happier. Husband had the chicken wings and they were good but pretty expensive for lunch in Tacoma. $23. Also, you get your own water and you have to bus your own table. I wish I would have known this before I left a 15% tip.
The food was decently priced and so FRESH and delicious. The rose tteokbokki was TO DIE FOR!!! It was extremely wheel chair accessible. There was not one thing about this place I didn’t like. I will be ordering again!
Pretty happy with my experience here. I recently tried this spot, and I would say the wings were probably my favorite, followed by a really good pickled radish that came with them. I thought the seating was really thoughtful, they have spaces for one person as well as groups of people. I am not normally in this area, but if I was in the area again, I would definitely go.
